A SHOPWORKER confessed to experimenting with hard drugs just before she died from a heroin overdose, a court heard.
Sarah Peachey told her sister she had taken crack cocaine, during a drinking session with boyfriend Ben Ferguson, in the days before she died.
The 21-year-old was killed by a lethal cocktail of heroin, diazepam and alcohol in July last year.
Heroin addict Ferguson, 27, of Cotswold Place, Peterlee, has admitted supplying her with the diazepam, but denies he gave her the heroin.
He is being tried by a jury at Newcastle Crown Court on a charge of supplying a class A drug.
Prosecutor Jolyon Perks read a statement to jurors from Sarah’s sister Alison Peachey yesterday.
Miss Peachey said in the document her sister had admitted she had tried and not liked a cannabis joint in the past.
And that more recently she confessed to trying crack cocaine.
Miss Peachey said in her statement: “She was in my house having a bottle of wine and she told me she had tried crack at Ben’s house.
“I knew she was talking about crack cocaine.”
