A teenager was beaten to a pulp by her thug boyfriend who launched a drunken attack on her in a pub car park – and left her for dead.
Evil Darryl Moore, 22, flew into an alcohol-fuelled rage and battered his 18-year-old girlfriend Rayna Holden by punching and kicking her – and stamping on her when she was unconscious.
Rayna, who stands just 5ft 5ins and is a size six, was left with bruising, two broken ribs and a dislocated knee after the savage beating, which was captured in full on CCTV at the Cross Keys pub in Washington Village.
Moore, now 22, has now been convicted of assault and jailed for 12 months at Newcastle Crown Court.
Prosecutor Neil Palliser told the court the couple, who had lived together in Sunderland, were at the end of their relationship when they agreed to meet at the bar and had an argument.
Brave Rayna said: “Daryl was my first love, and I was so besotted with him I trusted him completely.
He’s a monster, and I want to warn other women what he’s capable ofRayna Holden
“When he attacked me that night I thought he was going to kill me. I’ve never been so terrified in all my life.
“I was scared to press charges but when I saw the CCTV footage I knew he had to be stopped - I don’t want any other woman to go through what I did.”
Rayna has moved back to her home town of Failsworth, Manchester, following the November 2014 assault in the pub beer garden.
The 14-minute clip shows an argument break out between Moore and Rayna in the pub’s beer garden, before Moore beats, kicks and stamps on her body - even when his girlfriend falls unconscious.
Moore dragged his fleeing girlfriend down a hill and threw numerous punches and kicks at the helpless girl - before his pal eventually pulled him off her.
After the attack, Rayna spent two months in Wearside Women in Need Shelter before moving back in with her grandfather David, 69.
Student Rayna plans to study hair and beauty at college next month, but still feels traumatised by the ordeal.
She said: “Daryl was so charming when I first met him.
“But after he lost his job as an engineer he turned nasty.
“That day, he had been drinking for three hours when I went to speak to a pal - and he just lost it.
“He got jealous and stood over me, screaming that I was a ‘slag and a ‘slut’.”
The pub’s CCTV footage captured the attack in a 14-minute video, which sees Moore throw beer at her before punching her in the face and chasing her from the garden.
He then dragged her up a grassy bank and punched her repeatedly for over a minute - before she slipped into unconsciousness.
Evil Moore then continued punching and kicking his downed girlfriend of three years, even though she went limp.
Rayna said: “He kept yelling that I was a ‘little whore’ as he beat and punched me. He was unstoppable - even when I told him he would kill me.
“The beatings kept coming until I couldn’t think straight.
“I stopped begging him to leave me alone, all I could do was curl in a ball and wait for it to be over.”
Callous Moore left her on the pavement, and it was about ten minutes before two customers found her and called the police.
Battered Rayna was treated for a dislocated knee, two broken ribs and bruising over her body.
In June, Moore, who is now living in North Yorkshire, pleaded guilty to assault at Newcastle Crown Court, meaning Rayna did not have to give evidence - but she believes his 12-month jail sentence is too short.
She said: “Daryl left me for dead but the sentence feels like a slap on the wrist.
“In the meantime, I still have nightmares and have to go to counselling - it’s not right or fair.
“He’s a monster, and I want to warn other women what he’s capable of.
“If releasing this footage means one other person comes forward and reports their abuser, I’ll be happy.”
