POLICE in Washington are issuing a further warning to cyclists to secure their bikes after three thefts in a 24-hour period.
The thefts happened overnight between Monday and Tuesday this week, with all bikes taken after being left unsecured.
A boy’s blue stunt bike, with stunt pegs, and a girl’s black and pink BMX were stolen from front gardens at two separate addresses on Ashgill, in Albany.
A black and green Carrera Vulcan mountain bike was also taken by thieves from a back garden at an address on Cherwell, in Sulgrave.
These incidents follow a spate of thefts in recent weeks of bikes left unsecured or unattended outside shops and houses, or secured with a small chain lock.
People are once again being asked to make sure their bike is locked or stored away securely when not in use to avoid giving thieves an easy ride.
