A MAN charged with attempted murder has been released on bail.
Karl Pascoe was released on conditional bail after a hearing at Newcastle Crown Court.
He was charged following a disturbance in Woodland Terrace, Concord, Washington, just after 1am on Monday, which left a 32-year-old man with a serious head injury.
The victim remains in Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary in a stable condition.
Pascoe, 28, of Striding Edge, Blackfell, Washington, first appeared before Sunderland Magistrates’ Court on Boxing Day, where he was remanded and the case committed to crown court.
He will next appear before Newcastle Crown Court on Tuesday.
A 22-year-old woman, who was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, has been released with no further action to be taken.
Officers investigating the attack have asked anyone with information to get in touch.
