TWO men needed hospital treatment for stab wounds after a disturbance in Chester-le-Street.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a fight broke out in a house in Pine Street at around 10pm on Thursday, February 19.
The incident started in the house before spilling out onto the street, where damage was also caused to a Yamaha scooter parked outside.
It is believed the two men, aged 29 and 24, had been fighting each other and several other people from within the house, both male and female, also became involved.
In total five men were arrested and interviewed, before being released on police bail while enquiries continue.
“This was a serious incident which started in the house and then carried on outside,” said Detective Sergeant Alex Simms.
“I am appealing for anyone who may have seen what happened to contact the police or Crimestoppers.”
Anyone with information should call the serious crime team at Chester-le-Street via 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
