Two charged after Washington ‘Cash in a Flash’ robbery

TWO men have been charged after a robbery at “Cash in a Flash” in Washington.

Simon Stafford, 38, of Stridingedge, Blackfell, Washington, has been charged with attempted robbery, possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear, handling stolen property and possessing a controlled drug.

He appeared at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.

Michael Trotter, 27, of Binsby Gardens, Gateshead, has been charged with attempting robbery, possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear, possession of cannabis and an unconnected burglary.

He appeared at Sunderland Magistrate’s Court on Saturday.

The incident happened on Wednesday July 30.
