THREE more people have been arrested as police continue their investigation into disorder ahead of a Premiership football match.
Teenagers, two aged 17 from Washington and Chester le Street, and one aged 18 from Washington, have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and are currently in custody.
Five people were arrested yesterday – a man aged 23 from Sunderland, a man aged 20 from South Tyneside, and two aged 18, one from Sunderland and one from Chester le Street, and a youth aged 16 from Sunderland were arrested.
They have been bailed pending further enquiries into the incident. A total of eight people have now been arrested.
