THREE men have been arrested after a clubber was glassed in the neck.

The 30-year-old victim was in city centre nightspot Ttonic in the early hours of yesterday when he was attacked with what police believe was a glass or bottle.

Emergency services were called to the Vine Place bar and the man was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital, where he received treatment to a neck wound and fractured eye socket.

He remains in hospital, but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Three men aged 31, 27 and 26 have been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent.

Ttonic remained taped off yesterday morning while forensic teams carried out their investigation.

Acting Detective Inspector Andy Richardson, of Northumbria Police, said: “We have made three arrests in relation to this incident and our inquiries are continuing.

“I’d urge any witnesses to come forward as they may be able to assist with the ongoing investigation.”

The attack took place at about 12.45am yesterday.
