It’s thought the offenders left the school via the fields at the back of South View in Shiney Row.

Acting Neighbourhood Sergeant Phil Dixon, whose team covers Shiney Row, said: “We’re carrying out enquiries to identify the offenders responsible for this burglary but we are also keen to locate the stolen items - if they’re not recovered children at the school will suffer when they go back after the summer holidays as they will not be able to use them.

“If anyone is offered similar items for sale then we want to hear from them, in particular we would ask second hand dealers to make sure the origin of the items they are trading is genuine.”

Any witnesses to the burglary is asked to call Northumbria Police on 101 quoting reference 196 250716 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
