Thieves make off with snake cage from Sunderland reptile shop

SLIPPERY thieves have stolen a snake cage from a reptile shop.

The theft happened at 10.30am on Monday, June 2 – although information has only just been released by Northumbria Police – when a man went into Team Reptiles at Hylton Road and stole a large glass python enclosure.

The cage is believed to be worth more than £100.

The thief picked it up and ran off along Hylton Road.

The suspect is described as white, aged in his early to mid 20s, wearing a dark pattered hat, dark zip-up coat and tracksuit bottoms.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the stolen cage or has been offered it for sale is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191, quoting reference 379 02/06/14.
