POLICE are appealing for witnesses after items were stolen from a church in Sunderland.
The theft happened at St Bede’s Roman Catholic Church, Heworth Road, in Usworth between 11.05am and 11.30am on Friday, May 9.
The thief went into the church hall, which was open to the public, and went through to the main church where they stole a laptop and projector before making off.
Officers are carrying out enquiries into the theft and are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time or has any information to contact them.
They are also keen to hear from anyone who may be offered a second hand laptop or projector for sale.
Sergeant Mark Hassard said: “We’re carrying out enquiries into the theft and would ask anyone who was either in the Church or around the area on Friday morning to get in contact.”
