Temazepam and piping stolen in Houghon house raids

POLICE are appealing for information after two burglaries in Houghton.

Between Saturday evening, February 23, and Tuesday evening, February 26, thieves broke into a property in Easington Lane and stole a boiler and copper piping. They damaged the ceiling of the address and the floor while stealing the metal.

Between 10am and 4pm on Tuesday, February 26, burglars got into a house in Moorsley Road and stole an amount of cash and Temazepam before making off.

Enquiries into the break-ins are ongoing and officers have been in the area carrying out house to house enquiries and speaking with local residents.

Neighbourhood Inspector Lisa Musgrove said: “We are looking into the possibility that these two crimes are linked and would appeal for anyone with any information that could help the enquiry to come forward and speak to police. I’d urge anyone who sees suspicious people hanging around where they live to report it to us and we will check it out.”
