Teenager stabbed in Sunderland street

Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was stabbed in Sunderland.

The incident happened at 6.10am on Monday, March 16, in Petersfield Road in Pennywell.

The 18-year-old suffered puncture wounds and was taken to the RVI for treatment. His condition is stable and not considered life-threatening.

A 17-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and is currently in police custody.

Officers are carrying out enquiries into the incident and appealing for witnesses.

Extra officers will be in the area.
