A TRIAL date has been set for a teaching assistant accused of sexual activity with a pupil.
Helen Turnbull, 35, is charged with four offences of abusing a position of trust by engaging in sexual activity with a boy aged between 13 and 17 years.
The offences are alleged to have happened between June and July, last year, when Turnbull, of Church View, Haswell, worked at a school in County Durham.
No charges were put to Turnbull during a short preliminary hearing at Durham Crown Court.
Prosecutor Sarah Mallett said full details of the case were yet to be served on the defence, and the trial is likely to take three days.
Judge Christopher Prince ordered a plea and case management hearing to take place on July 25.
The judge set a provisional trial date of November 10.
Turnbull was bailed on condition she doesn’t contact any prosecution witnesses, except the police officer in charge of her case.
