Sunderland stabbing victim dies in hospital

A MAN found stabbed in a Sunderland street in the early hours of Monday has died from his injuries.

The victim, named locally as George ‘Geordie’ Dagg, died overnight in hospital from a serious wound to his leg.

Mr Dagg, 53, was found injured in Purley Road, Plains Farm, at 4.20am, on June 2. A Post Mortem examination will be carried out in due course.

Jack Ryan, 21, and Jess Ryan, 24, both of Toronto Road, in Thorney Close, have been charged with wounding with intent and affray. They will appear at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court this morning.
