Sunderland man in serious condition after pub fight

A MAN is in a serious condition today after a fight broke out at a Wearside pub.

The 48-year-old was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital with head injuries following the altercation at about 7pm yesterday at The Grange pub in Hendon.

Police said he has since been transferred to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, where he remains in a serious condition.

A 32-year-old man and a 22-year-old man have been arrested in connection with the fight.

Inquiries into the events are still on-going.
