Sunderland is car fraud hotspot
SUNDERLAND was today labelled a hotspot for motor finance fraud.
In figures released by the Finance & Leasing Association, the city was fourth in the country for the number of reported cases, just behind Greater London, Glasgow and Birmingham.
Spokesman Paul Harrison said: “Sunderland’s appearance on our list of motor fraud hotspots is most probably the result of a few organised fraudsters from elsewhere targeting motor dealerships in a new area.”
