A GARAGE owner is counting the cost after vandals damaged two of his cars.

Bhavesh Patel was shocked to discover the thousands of pounds worth of damage done to his Nissan Patrol 4X4 and his Suzuki, which were parked overnight at his garage in Pallion Road.

Police are now investigating the incident, which took place at the Jet Garage between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

Mr Patel said: “I’ve lived here for 18 years and I’ve never had anything like this happen before. The damage is really bad, to the roof, the bonnet, the spare wheel.”

A spokeswoman for Northumbria Police said: “Police are carrying out inquiries after receiving a report of two cars being damaged at a garage in Pallion Road.

“Anyone with information on the incident is urged to contact Northumbria Police on 101 ext 69191.”
