Street Brawl involved 10 men in Sunderland street

TWO men were arrested after a brawl involving ten people broke out in a Sunderland street.

Police were called to Hylton Bank at 8.20pm yesterday to reports of a fight with one person armed witha metal bar.

Officers attended the scene where a 45-year-old man was found with head injuries. He was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

Subsequent enquiries have revealed the incident followed on from a verbal altercation at the nearby Comrades Club.

Two men, aged 39 and 30, have been arrested on suspicion of unlawful wounding. They are currently being interviewed by police.

Investigations into the incident are continuing today and police are keen to speak to any witnesses.
