A STOLEN motorised scooter, taken from outside a South Tyneside home, was found dumped streets away.
Police were called to Hedworth Lane in Boldon Colliery after the vehicle was reported stolen.
The theft happened between 10pm on Wednesday, September 24, and the early hours of the morning after.
It was discovered at about 6am, on Thursday, September 25, on Church View next to St Nicholas’s Church.
The bike’s steering lock and chain were intact, however, it’s thought a shopping trolley may have been used to move it. Police are keen to speak to anyone with information on the theft or who may have seen the scooter being transported.
The appeal comes as Northumbria Police continue to target opportunist thieves as part of its force-wide Operation Soundwave.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, ext 69191 or call charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
