FURIOUS Newcastle fans tore down Sports Direct Arena signs at last night’s reserve match against Sunderland.

 Half-way through the game, fans stripped the signs from inside the ground, throwing them towards the pitch in anger at the name change.

 Police have launched an investigation to trace those responsible for the damage.

 The match ended in a 3-3 draw.
