SIX men are due to appear before magistrates in connection with the discovery of a £150,000 drugs haul.
The men, aged from their 30s to their 50s, were charged on Monday following raids on homes in the Peterlee and Easington areas, which took place in January and March.
Police say the men were targeted as part of the fight to target suspected organised crime groups in the area.
One is charged with production with intent to supply 27.144kg of cannabis resin worth £117,000, along with two charges of money laundering under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
A second is charged with producing £12,340 of cannabis, another is accused of producing £15,760 of the drug, while a fourth is said to have produced £5,100 worth.
A fifth faces a charge of possession with intent to supply £4,090 of cannabis, while the sixth is charged with possession with intent to supply £9,460 of the drug.
The charges come after raids in Troutbeck Way and Eden Lane, in Peterlee; and Ashton Street, Oak Road and Carlton Terrace, in Easington Colliery.
The men are due to appear before Peterlee magistrates on Wednesday.
