A 12-YEAR-OLD boy was punched before being robbed by a gang of thugs.
The youngster was walking along Morinda Close, in Shiney Row, when the yobs demanded he hand over cash.
One of them punched him before another hit him again and snatched an unknown sum of money from him.
One of the attackers was wearing a black Berghaus jacket with the hood up, another was wearing a grey jacket and the third a green woolly jacket.
Alan Pitchford, Acting Neighbourhood Inspector for the area, said: “We are carrying out inquiries into this incident to trace those responsible.
“Thankfully, the victim didn’t suffer serious injuries but was left incredibly shaken. This happened in the early evening and was potentially witnessed by people.
“I would urge anyone with information to come forward as they may be able to assist with our investigation.”
The attack took place on Tuesday between 6pm and 6.10pm.
