TWO males have been remanded in custody after being charged in connection with an alleged sex attack on a teenage girl in Blackhall.
Lewis Bates, 18, of Runciman Road, Hartlepool, and a 17-year-old who cannot be named for legal reasons, both face three counts of rape after the alleged incident on Bank Holiday Monday.
No pleas were entered at the hearing before Peterlee magistrates on Thursday and both defendants were sent to Durham Crown Court, where they will appear on September 12.
Another 17-year-old male, arrested in connection with the incident, has been bailed until Friday, September 6, while two males aged 17 and 27 have been bailed until September 28.
