Police tackling estate trouble

POLICE are carrying out extra patrols to tackle anti-social behaviour in an area of Sunderland.

Resident in Eden Vale have complained about gangs of youths causing trouble, loud music playing from cars in the area, and anti-social and inconsiderate driving and parking.

Those known to be involved are being visited at home with their parents to explain the impact of their behaviour.

Acting Inspector Ash Hopper said: “With the increase in warmer weather and lighter nights there’s generally more youngsters out enjoying the outdoors.

“While the vast majority are well behaved, occasionally some do cause issues for residents.

“We’re committed to tackling the issues of most concern and I’d urge people to report incidents.”
