POLICE are appealing for help in their attempts to trace a man missing from his Peterlee home.

Robert Gordon Sanderson (pictured right), aged 57, was last seen at his home in Witton Garth, Peterlee on Friday morning. His sister saw him at around 6am when he left home to go for a walk.

Mr Sanderson is about 6ft tall and has short, dark brown hair. He wears glasses and was last seen wearing a black sweater, blue jeans and black trainers or boots.

Inspector David Wells, from Durham Police, said; “We are concerned for Robert’s welfare since it is out of character for him to have gone missing in this way.

“Robert enjoyed walking in the Peterlee Dene area so we would ask anyone walking in that area to be vigilant.

“Anyone who does see Robert is asked to contact police immediately.”

Anyone with information concerning Mr Sanderson is asked to contact police on 101.
