Police hunt after stabbing

POLICE are trying to trace a man after a street stabbing.

Bakhtiyar Hama, 27, is wanted in connection with the assault in which the victim was discovered bleeding in a back lane.

The attack happened at 2.40pm on Thursday, August 1 in a rear lane of Ladykirk Road in the west end of Newcastle.

However, police believe Hama could be in the Durham area. It is understood he has connections to Shotton Colliery.

Police investigating an assault in Newcastle have released a photograph of a man they would like to trace.

Two men aged 25 and 20 were arrested on suspicion of affray and have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Anyone who knows his whereabouts is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 101.
