A BODY washed up on a beach is missing teacher Mark Bushnell.
Police have confirmed a body which was found in Blackhall on Saturday is that of Mr Bushnell, 50, who worked as the deputy headteacher of Durham School.
The married father-of-three was reported missing from his home in Durham City on Sunday, March 9.
Since then officers from Durham Constabulary have been involved in extensive searches.
Mr Bushnell’s body was discovered on the beach by a member of the public on the morning of Saturday.
Police say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and the coroner has been informed.
Chief Inspector Andy Huddleston who led the search for Mark said “Our thoughts are with Mark’s family at this extremely difficult time.
“Mark’s wife, Joanna would like to thank all involved in the search for Mark for their efforts.”
