THIEVES have smashed their way into a van parked in Sunderland and stolen items from inside.

The white Iveco van was targeted between 9.30am and 10.30am on Wednesday, October 8, when it was parked in Chester Terrace North

A front window was smashed and holdall stolen from the footwell.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to contact them on 101 ext 69191, quoting reference 360 of 08/10/14, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

Motorists are advised to ensure they lock their vehicles at all times and remove anything from display as part of Northumbria Police’s Operation Soundwave, aimed at tackling thieves and burglars across the force and promoting crime prevention advice.
