A MAN was taken to hospital after he was found with serious injuries in a Sunderland street following an argument.
The 43-year-old victim was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital with injuries described as serious, but not life threatening, after he was found in Cairo Street, in Hendon, at 10.55pm on Friday.
Police are now trying to piece together how the man was injured and are appealing for potential witnesses to get in touch.
Detective Sergeant Keith Jewitt said: “An investigation is underway to establish precisely how this man came by his injuries and we would like to hear from anyone who has any information about this inci- dent.
“We believe there may have been an argument involving a group of men in the street at around the time of the incident.
“A blue van was also seen in the area, so we would encourage anyone who thinks they may have seen a vehicle of that description or who has any information to contact us.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191 and quote the reference 1537 of 25/07/2014.
