POLICE are appealing for information after two cars were broken into in Hetton.

Between 3.30pm on Monday, February 25, and 7.30am on Tuesday, February 26, thieves broke into a car parked in Saint Cuthbert’s Close and stole a bottle of perfume from the glovebox before making off.

Between 7am and 7.40am on Tuesday, February 26, thieves broke into a car parked in Houghton Road. Nothing was stolen but the car was left damaged.

Neighbourhood Inspector Lisa Musgrove said: “Thieves are looking for cars where belongings have been left inside. Don’t leave money, bags, clothing or electronic items in your car overnight and always make sure you lock your car.

“If anyone saw anybody suspicious around the time of the thefts then I’d ask them to contact us with information.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191.
