Petrol bomb attack on home

FIVE members of a family including a three-month-old baby fled a house when it was petrol bombed.

The attack saw two men smash a reinforced front window of the home with a brick before the lit bottle of fuel was put through a gap, setting fire to the blinds.

After causing the damage to the house in Burns Street in Wheatley Hill, the thugs ran off towards Cemetery Road.

All five of the people in the home at the time escaped injury.

Detectives have appealed for help into the arson, which happened at 1.30am last Thursday.

Durham Constabulary can be called on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
