POLICE are hunting a flasher who exposed himself to an 11-year-old schoolgirl in Sunderland yesterday.

The girl was walking along Ranson Street at 4.25pm on Wednesday when she passed a man with his trousers open.

The man exposed himself to the girl, but did not approach or speak to her, before he ran off towards Durham Road.

He is described as being in his 30s or 40s, of very thin build, with wrinkles on his forehead and under his eyes.

He was wearing turned-up blue jeans, a black jacket, dark coloured boots and a blue woollen hat. He was carrying a white mobile phone.

Neighbourhood Inspector Dave Pickett said: “An investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances of this incident.

“The young girl was not hurt, but she was very shocked and we are asking for anyone who witnessed this incident or has seen anything suspicious in the area to contact police as soon as possible.”
