Pensioner pushed from his bike by thieves in Sunderland

A PENSIONER was pushed from his bike in a cycle theft in Sunderland.

It happened around 6am on Friday September 5 when a man aged 68 was cycling on the footpath to the rear of Alnwick Road, which runs alongside Farringdon Academy.

He was approached by two men, one of which pushed him off his bike to the ground. After a struggle this man stole his bike and they both ran off.

The victim suffered grazes and bruising and was left shaken following the robbery.

The suspects are both described as aged in their 20s with one of them around 5ft 7ins tall of slim build and wearing a light coloured jumper.

The stolen bike is a black and white Giant mountain bike.
