FIREARMS recovered from a house were not capable of firing, police today revealed.
Officers raided Leeming House in Wallace Street, Houghton, on Monday at 5.54pm.
They arrested a 38-year-old man and 37-year-old woman on suspicion of possessing a firearm without a certificate.
The pair were released on bail until the end of October late on Tuesday as inquiries continue in to the find.
Yesterday, Northumbria Police searched the detached house under a search warrant.
They spent two days at the property.
