A PAEDOPHILE preyed on a schoolgirl over the internet just weeks after he was freed from prison for posing as a schoolboy to target teenagers.
Predator Lee Donaldson was jailed for five and a half years in 2009 after he pretended to be a 14-year-old boy so he could target schoolgirls across the UK.
The now 40-year-old had acted as a “shoulder to cry on” to girls aged between 13 and 15 who he met in chat rooms.
Donaldson then lured his victims into engaging in explicit exchanges and encouraged them to perform sex acts online.
Some of his victims were persuaded to e-mail him explicit photographs, after he sent pictures of himself as a teenager to make his story seem more convincing.
Donaldson, of Fatfield Park, Washington, was released at the start of this year with strict licence conditions and was banned from contacting youngsters online.
But within weeks of having his freedom, he was back to his predatory ways.
During a hearing at Newcastle Crown Court yesterday, where he appeared via videolink to HMP Northumberland, Donaldson pleaded guilty to causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
The charge relates to a 15-year-old girl.
He also admitted two breaches of a sexual offences prevention order by contacting a person under 16 and by accessing the internet.
Prosecutor Jonathan Devlin told the court: “He was released from a five-and-a-half year sentence for similar offences about four weeks before.”
Judge James Goss QC adjourned the case until October 31 and told Donaldson there will be a pre-sentence report to address the issue of risk.
He has been recalled to prison.
When police raided Donaldson’s home in October 2007, they found a stash of more than 4,500 indecent images and videos of children, some of which were in the most serious categories. Investigators also found evidence he had been sharing the images with other paedophiles.
It was during the investigation his conduct with the six young girls, who lived in the North East, Yorkshire, and Gwent, Wales, was exposed and led to his jail term.
