POLICE are experiencing difficulties in dealing with calls to its 101 number.
Northumbria Police is suffering with a fault on the non-emergency telephone system.
Engineers are working to repair the fault.
The force has said if there is any danger or risk to life, a crime is in progress or the attendance of the police is urgent, dial 999.

It has said if it is about an issue which can if you are able to wait please call back later.
The force has apologised for the inconvenience the fault is causing.
