A MAN arrested in a series of raids as part of an investigation into online race hate messages will not face charges.
The 46-year-old from Seaham was arrested with five other men in dawn arrests launched in April.
Computers, laptops and mobile phones were seized during the raid, which was led by the North East Counter Terrorism Unit.
It has now confirmed the men will not answer charges following discussions with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).
A spokesman for the unit said: “Officers carried out a full and thorough investigation onto posts made on social networking sites.
“Five men were arrested on suspicion of publishing or distributing written material which may stir up racial hatred.
“Following liaison with the CPS, we were advised no further action should be taken.”
