A RETIRED Methodist minister has admitted making indecent images of a child.
Peterlee Magistrates’ Court heard 73-year-old Kenneth Mankin created seven photographs on April 18.
Mankin, of Richmond Road, Newton Hall, Durham, pleaded guilty to all the charges, which each relate to a different image.
The court was told police raided his home and seized computer equipment and storage devices.
Fifteen images were found across three of five levels of seriousness.
Mankin was released on bail until his next appearance before the courts on July 24.
After the case Daniel Jones, safeguarding co-ordinator for the Newcastle and Darlington Districts of the Methodist church, said Mankin has been suspended from all office holding positions within the church since his arrest.
