TWO revellers were punched in the face in separate booze-fuelled attacks in Sunderland city centre.

The assaults took place within hours of each other at a busy time in Vine Place during the early hours of Sunday morning.

The first incident saw an 18-year-old man suffer a black eye after being punched in the face by a stranger at about 12.30am.

The man is believed to have walked up to the teenager before grabbing and punching him in the face. The attacker then ran off.

At about 3am, a 28-year-old got into an argument with another man who then punched him in the face and ran off.

The man suffered a black eye and cuts to his face.
