Men arrested after shotgun and rifles recovered in Sunderland

FIREARMS have been recovered after they were dumped in a burning wheelie bin.

The shotgun and two rifles were found in the bin, which was on fire in Julius Caesar Street in Southwick, just after 11.30pm yesterday.

Police believe the guns were those taken from a car in nearby Old Mill Road on Saturday.

Two men, aged 26 and 36, have been arrested as part of the inquiry.
