POLICE have launched an appeal for information after masked thieves broke into two Sunderland shops on the same night.
At 7.45pm on Saturday, January 10, two men have forced the doors at Greggs at Hylton Riverside Retail Park, and the rear fire door at Costa Coffee at the adjoining building.
Nothing was stolen in either incident but damage was caused.
One of the suspects was wearing a black woollen hat and black coat with a white scarf around his mouth, and white trainers, while the second man was wearing a hooded top with the hood up.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the burglary to contact them on 101 ext 69191, quoting reference 1023 10/01/15, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
The appeal comes during Northumbria Police’s Operation Soundwave, aimed at tackling thieves and burglars across the force.
