POLICE were called to reports of a stabbing in an East Durham village.
Officers from Peterlee CID were called to Ilchester Street, Seaham, following reports that a man had been stabbed last night.
The alleged victim, who is in his 20s, was rushed to Sunderland Royal Hospital, and treated for what police are describing as a “nasty head wound”.
A Peterlee CID spokesman said the man’s injuries are not life-threatening.
The man’s injuries needing stapling, but he sdischarged himself from hospital after an hour.
A North East Ambulance Service spokesman confirmed that paramedics were called to a report of an assault at the address at 8.30pm.
