Man on drink-drive charged after Dawdon crash

A MAN has been charged with drink-driving after a crash which left a van on it side and another vehicle damaged.

The collision happened just before 6pm on Saturday in Queen Alexandra Road, Dawdon, after the white Peugeot van had passed through a chicane.

It was left resting on its driver’s side after the impact, which left a parked Nissan Navaro 4x4 with damage.

The driver of the van was already out of his vehicle when the emergency services arrived.

The road was closed while police carried out inquires and cleared the scene.

No one was injured in the collision.

A 40-year-old Seaham man will appear before Peterlee Magistrates’ Court later this month charged with drink-driving.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Durham Constabulary on 101.
