A MAN was treated for head injuries after a brutal assault.
Police are hunting his attacker after the 31-year-old from Thornley, near Peterlee, was beaten about the head in a dispute early yesterday morning.
The victim was struck with an implement, which left him needing staples in his head.
Det Con Andy Reynolds, from Peterlee CID, said the incident happened at about 3am in the Villas, Thornley.
Police are appealing for witnessest.
Mr Reynolds said: “We believed the man was of Asian origin but we don’t know a great deal more about him.”
