A MAN was taken to hospital after he was found with serious injuries in a Sunderland street following what is believed to be an argument.
The 43-year-old victim was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital with injuries described as serious, but not life threatening after he was found in Cairo Street, Hendon, at 10.55pm on Friday.
Detective Sergeant Keith Jewitt said: “An investigation is underway to establish precisely how this man came by his injuries and we would like to hear from anyone who has any information about this incident.
“We believe there may have been an argument involving a group of men in the street at around the time of the incident. A blue van was also seen in the area, so we would encourage anyone who thinks they may have seen a vehicle of that description or who has any information to contact us.”
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them.
