A MAN needed hospital treatment after being found with head and leg injuries in a Sunderland street.
Police say they received a report that a 26-year-old man had suffered the injuries in Toward Road, near the Museum and Winter Gardens building, in Sunderland city centre, shortly after 1am on Saturday.
It is believed the man had been assaulted not long before he was found.
The man was tended to by paramedics, who then took him to Sunderland Royal Hospital for treatment.
His condition is described as not life-threatening.
Northumbria Police say they are now carrying out enquiries as to how the man became injured.
