A MAN needed hospital treatment after he was found in a Sunderland street with head injuries.
The 35-year-old was treated by paramedics in Gray Road, Hendon, for a broken cheekbone and a cut to his head.
Police were called at 12.45am yesterday, and the man was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital.
Northumbria Police are investigating whether the man’s injuries are linked to an earlier incident in Hendon Valley Road, which the force was unable to give details of.
Officers want anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious to call 101, or ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
