A MAN has been charged with drink-driving after a crash that took out a 12ft-long garden wall.
The accident, involving a Ford Transit and Seat Ibiza, happened in Vane Terrace, Seaham.
The three men inside the van and the man and woman in the car were able to escape the vehicle before emergency services arrived.
The collision has reduced a section of the 4ft-high wall outside a house in Vane Terrace to rubble.
The accident happened close to the junction of Castlereagh Road, North Railway Street and Blandford Street, just before 3pm on Sunday.
A 39-year-old Washington man was arrested and later charged with drink driving.
He is due to appear before Peterlee magistrates next month.
