A MAN has died four days after being found with head injuries on a Sunderland street.
The 33-year-old was found unconscious and with head injuries in the back lane of Carlisle Terrace, at about 10.45am on Tuesday.
He was taken to the Sunderland Royal Hospital before later being transferred to the Royal Victoria Infirmary, in Newcastle.
Police said he died at the RVI on Saturday.
Two men, who were with the man shortly before he was injured, were arrested and spoken to by police and are on bail pending further enquiries.
Enquiries into how the man came about his injuries are ongoing although police said that at this stage there was no evidence to suggest an assault has taken place. The investigation is still ongoing.
